Currently Loving | October Favourites

I'm going to be a typical blogger and highlight how fast this month has gone. Seriously where has October gone? Christmas is creeping up on us and I couldn't be more excited. Myself and Pastel Blasts Beauty have decided to share with you some of the things we've been loving this month, click here to take you straight to her blog and see what she's been loving during the month of October.

I think i'll start with makeup today, both are actually Rimmel products- just putting it out there that this isn't sponsored, haha! I picked up both these products on a deal in Boots, probably something like 2 for £10 which is a bargain!

I had heard lots about the Rimmel Match Perfection Foundation and I saw that it had been reformulated, claiming to have a pore blurring effect. This sounded perfect for me as I have quite large open pores around my nose so I was hoping this would minimise the appearance of them. It definitely does! This foundation is also very light and natural so is ideal for everyday wear. I also found it's super easy to blend so is perfect for when i'm in a rush in the mornings.

The next product that I've been loving is the Rimmel Kate Moss Matte Lipstick in 107. So many beauty bloggers rave about this so I thought i'd give it a go. I expected it to be a darker berry shade, however I find it's more pink on my lips. I have recently been really enjoying wearing it though as it lasts a good while on my lips with liner. I also feel this would be perfect for those experimenting with darker lip options, this is very wearable so give it a whirl!

Next up is nails, i'm sure you will have seen this nail varnish on my blog before. It's the Rimmel Lycra Pro Nail Varnish in Hypnotise- the perfect shade for Autumn/Winter! I love wearing this on my nails, you can see my review here. Whenever I take this off, almost every time I want to put it back on! I think this would look pretty with a glitter on top and would look especially great during the Christmas/Party Season.

Now onto skincare. My first product is something I've rediscovered this month, it's the Soap and Glory Hot Cloth Pore Cleanser. I used to love this and I think I stopped using it as I was coming to the end of the tube. Recently I heard that this was a good dupe of the Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish which is something I've been wanting to try for a while, I decided i'd pick this up and give it another try. First of all, I love the calming scent which works well with a hot muslin cloth, it's relaxing and feels like a real treat at the end of the day. This has been repackaged and renamed but I will be going back to pick this up, it is now called The Ultimelt Deep Purifying Hot Cloth Cleanser.

The second product in skincare is the Garnier Fresh Essentials Moisturiser. I decided to try this as it was on offer on Feel Unique and it looks very similar to another Garnier moisturiser that I love. I think I may have already mentioned this in a previous post but I can't decide which I love more. They're both super hydrating and light on the skin, however I think this may sink in a little quicker. If you're looking for a new moisturiser to keep your skin soft and hydrated during the colder months, i'd definitely recommend this! It's roughly around £2 to £3 and I believe you can pick it up in supermarkets like Tesco and Asda.

For fashion, it had to be these pointed boots from Dorothy Perkins. These have been my go-to everyday as they're comfortable and look great. I'm quite short and so are my legs so I feel like the point elongates them, is that a thing? Haha! I've worn these so much already and there is hardly any signs of wear so I can tell these are going to last me a good while, yay!

Does a series count as a lifestyle favourite? My brother recently got Amazon Prime so I've sneakily been using his account to watch Parks and Recreation, he probably knows but we'll pretend he doesn't- haha! I had heard lots about this series, saying it's a must watch- it is! Amy Poehler is hilarious as Leslie, I love her!
I don't want to attempt to describe it as quite frankly I don't want to ruin it, but i'm sure a quick Google search will entice you! I'm gutted as only three series are on Amazon Prime at the moment, lets hope they add more!

Last but certainly not least, YouTubers! Seeing as it's been Vlogtober, there have been quite a lot of daily vlogs to watch. There have been a couple that have stood out to me, Diary Of A Spendaholic and Lily Melrose. Both very different, but I love so go check them out. In terms of general videos, I've been loving Laura Black(she's hilarious and absolutely stunning!) and Gem Lo Valentine(She is also beautiful and I love her style!) If you'd like to check them out then click on each of their names to take you straight to their channels!

And that's a wrap of what I've been loving this October. Be sure to check out Pastel Blasts Beauty and see what she's been loving this month too!

Currently Lusting Over | Autumn Fashion Wishlist

Autumn fashion is my favourite! I love the warm colours and layering. There have been quite a few pieces that I've been lusting over recently, I may have to cave and get them! They'll last me through the winter too, so why not!?

1. When Autumn is in full swing, there is nothing I love more than throwing on a jumper, jeans and a dark lip. I love the camel trend and this Funnel Neck Jumper from Topshop is a perfect neutral to rock this Autumn! I'm also a lover of stripes, all year round! Usually I opt for a striped t-shirt but it can get a bit nippy for that so this Liquorice Striped Jumper, again from Topshop is ideal! Can you tell that i'm loving the turtle/roll necks at the moment?

2. These seem to be the 'it' skirt at the moment. It's likely you either own one or want one, i'm of course the latter as I've included it within my wish list. Another trend I love is the 70s trend, i'd definitely be channeling the 70s wearing this Tan Button Front from New Look. I must go in to try this on and to see whether the style actually suits me, please!

3. It's possible that I've already included these jeans in a wish list. I'm still yet to try a pair of Topshop jeans, just because i'm such a cheapskate. I mean, why would I spend nearly £40 on a pair of jeans when I can get very similar in Primark for a tenner. I actually find the Primark jeans good quality, for what you pay for but the Topshop ones are probably much better! I love these Blue-Black Joni Jeans, they're the perfect in-between for when you're not sure whether to wear bright blue or black jeans.

4. I love the sleeveless jackets/duster coats we're seeing a lot of at the moment. I think they make a casual outfit look so chic! I'm not sure whether I want a dark grey or khaki one yet but I found this gorgeous one from Miss Selfridge. I really like the wrap front style on this one too!

5. Ankle boots are possibly my favourite style of shoe, I love how you can pair them with pretty much anything! They're practical, comfy and look good- well, at least I think so anyway! I probably don't need another pair, but I would like another. I don't have a pair of tan ankle boots, yet...
I love these Leather Ankle Boots from ASOS, the tan colour makes them ideal for this time of year as well as summer!

6. I'm in need of a new bag. I love my black tote from Zara and it's served me well for two years, I would be happy to take another if it was still sold! I've never really shopped much at Dorothy Perkins before, however I was told that they have lots of lovely things in at the moment so I decided to check out their website. I found this Black Landscape Tote which is similar to my Zara bag, however that was more long where as this is wide or landscape rather. I think this would be a nice change!

7. Another year, another tartan scarf. I love scarfs, to keep me warm and too add a little something to a basic monochrome outfit. I actually don't have the classic red tartan scarf so I thought this year, i'll pick one up. While browsing online I found this one being sold on eBay, although I do believe they sell similar in Primark so I may just pick one up there instead. I think tartan is perfect during Autumn/Winter.

And that's all for now, well hopefully otherwise my bank balance won't look too healthy!

Autumn Haul | Clothes, Accessories and Makeup!

The transition from Summer to Autumn happened so quickly. I know Summer in the UK is hardly ever the greatest but we had a good few days where it was warm and we even had that mini heatwave. Despite the fact my wardrobe this Summer was definitely not summery, I still found as soon as Autumn came around my wardrobe needed a good refresh. Dare I say it, it's not completely done and its likely inevitable that I will pick up some more clothes- I think I've picked up some nice pieces that I thought i'd share with you today. There's also a few beauty bits at the end too!

First stop was H&M. I went not looking for anything in particular then found the jumper I was after last Autumn/Winter. I believe these are basics so they're probably in store all year round in different colours but I had my eye on the mustard colour, perfect for Autumn with a berry lip. These are slightly cropped and I didn't want them to be so I picked them up in a large. I'm glad I did as the black and white mixed wool one has slightly shrunk in the wash- so bare that in mind if you're thinking of buying one. Also these are £7.99, perfect for pairing with jeans, skirts or over dresses. I may go back and pick up the olive/khaki one too!

As I've started doing supply work as a Teaching Assistant, I was in need of some comfortable, appropriate clothes for school. Dresses with leggings and boots seem to be a popular choice and I must say, this combo is easy to throw on early morning and super comfortable. I browsed boohoo as they always have great deals, I found both these dresses in the sale- the Chambray Gingham Dress was £8 and the Monochrome Aztec Dress was £6.
I love the Gingham one and i'll definitely get a lot of wear in and out of work, however the Aztec one isn't usually something i'd wear but is perfect for work.

I also popped into town earlier this week with my sister. Of course, I must have a browse in Primark as it's not often that i'm in town. I've been looking for a green flannel shirt for a while and had my eye on one in the men's section but every time I looked, they never had a small! I found this in the women's section which i'm glad about as it will fit better. This was only £8 and I think it looks more expensive, i'll wear this buttoned up and undone- I don't think i'm cool enough to wear it around my waist, haha!
I also picked up this long sleeved ribbed top in a rusty brown colour, this goes perfect with the shirt but looks great thrown on with jeans and boots too!
I was in need of another pair of black high waisted jeans(see first picture) as I bust out of my previous pair while in McDonalds, how embarrassing! They were very worn out though, so that's my excuse. They're only £10 in Primark so much cheaper than Topshop Joni Jeans.

I almost always buy a new pair of boots every Autumn. This year I bought these pointed black boots from Dorothy Perkins which you may have already seen on my blog. They were £25 which is a bargain in itself as they seem quite sturdy, however I had a £10 gift voucher and there was 20% off in store on the day, so I got these for only £10! I'm so chuffed as I've already gotten a lot of wear out of these.

I've not owned a watch in years because i'll let you into a secret, I've never been the greatest at telling the time. I know, i'm 18 and I've only just learnt to properly tell the time on an analogue clock- that's awful! But I make myself feel better as I know a few older than me who still can't tell the time. Anyway, I needed this for work as I obviously can't have my phone on me. I love how simple but pretty this is, it's from ASOS and was only £13.

Last but certainly not least I popped into Boots. I again had a £10 gift voucher so I was determined to spend it this time. I saw that Rimmel had a 2 for £10 offer so I thought i'd check it out and re-jog my memory to see if there was anything I wanted to try. The Kate Moss Lipsticks are much loved in the blogosphere, especially 107 so I picked it up to sport in the Autumn with my mustard jumper. I've been wanting to change my foundation for a while as I got a bit bored with it so I got the Rimmel Match Perfection in the shade Ivory to try. I'm yet to try it but i'm sure i'll let you know my thoughts.

Fleur De Force recently announced her new makeup line which I believe came out on Thursday. I've never really wanted to buy other Youtuber's products, however I was really intrigued by these highly pigmented lip glosses. They're like a mix between liquid lipsticks and lip glosses which I've not seen before so I promptly purchased this gorgeous 'your lips but better' shade in Written In The Stars. So far, I really like it- it smells amazing and will be perfect for everyday wear.

And that's all I've bought recently for Autumn. As I said earlier, i'm sure there will be more to come! If I pick up enough worth hauling, then I sure will!
Hope you've had a lovely week!

The Sunday Edit #8 | Appointments, Shopping and Catch Ups!

I didn't have much planned for this week so I was sort of taking every day as it came, I did have a few lazy days but I thought i'd share my week with you anyway!

Monday, not a lot was done as the weather wasn't too great and it looks like Autumn is coming- hence why I wore a chunky scarf and not a lot of colour. I woke up early and booked my doctors appointment. My sisters text me to say that they were coming around my house so I was quite excited as I hadn't seen them both much in a little while. We spent the afternoon nattering away about anything and everything- it was so nice to have a good catch up! My mum then decided to drag me to B&Q with her, yawn! We also popped into Asda to buy some fruit so that I could make some smoothies and juices in the week. I then persuaded my mum to take me to McDonalds which was super naughty! As if we didn't have enough takeaway while we were away.

Tuesday was the day I had been dreading for a little while, I had to go to the doctors to have a Meningitis vaccine. I've had quite a few needles in the past few years but for some reason I was really nervous, it didn't help that the person before me was screaming the place down while having theirs done. The nurse was lovely though and it was over within two minutes. Again I went shopping with my mum and we got a free packet of Disney Princess cards for spending over a certain amount- woo!
I spent the evening watching Educating Cardiff and if you weren't aware I'm actually from Cardiff myself. It was cringe worthy but it made me miss high school a lot!

On Wednesday, I woke up early well at least it was earlier than I have woke up in a while. I love the summer holidays! To start the day I had a pineapple, apple and carrot juice and got ready for the dentist. I was scared that i'd have to have another filling but no, all went well thankfully! I then popped into the agency I've started working for, for a meeting then went to visit my friend in work. Although I am trying not to spend at the moment, I couldn't resist a browse in town as I had two vouchers for Topshop (and other stores within the same group) and Boots. I was a left a little disappointed when I didn't manage to spend my Boots one, shock horror! I just wasn't really feeling anything. I did however pick up a pair of new pointed boots for Autumn/Winter from Dorothy Perkins and I love them!

MMM!
Not much was done on Thursday, except blogging! Me and my sister decided to pop to IKEA on Friday though, she is a teacher so was in need of a few bits for the classroom but I couldn't resist a trip to IKEA as i'm a lover of all things home ware! I didn't need anything so I didn't get anything, apart from Pick N Mix which I never have so I allowed myself. Last minute me and my friends decided to go out for food, we went to Las Iguanas again which was lovely! It was really nice to have a good catch up too!

I've not got much planned this weekend so i'm going to leave it there, however if something drastic happens i'm sure I will update you! I'm not sure if you'll see a Sunday Edit from me next week as it's Back To School week and i'll be busy sorting out things for work for when I start, however you shall see other things from me!
Happy Bank Holiday Weekend!

WHAT HAVE YOU BEEN UP TO THIS WEEK?

April Wish List

Hello you lovely people reading this, today I thought i'd do a short and simple post which will be my "wish list"- Now I use quotation marks as these are items that I will most probably buy at the end of the month so they aren't as such a wish. But never-the-less these are still a few items that I have my eyes on.

First up is Jelly shoes. I know there will be some very mixed opinions with these, but personally I love them! These are shoes I grew up with, so why the hell not get another pair even though i'm 17. I've heard you can get these super cheap in Primark but I haven't yet been there to check out the colours but i'm thinking I want something simple, black or nude just like these pair. The black are from New Look and the nude pair that i'm falling for are from Dorothy Perkins.

Ooops sorry this blog post isn't going to be catergorised as the next item is something beauty related. I've had my eyes on this for a while and was going to purchase it while it was on sale but completely forgot, and they do not stock it in my local boots. So this is something i'll have to pick up when i'm next in town- the Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water. Originally I wanted to try the L'Oreal version, but after hearing such amazing reviews for this one and getting more for your money, my mind quickly changed!

If you aren't aware but i'm absolutely crazy excited to be seeing McBusted next month with one of my oldest friends so I'm currently on the hunt for something comfortable but pretty cool to wear. I've been loving smock style dresses recently so was thinking a smock dress along with my Topshop snake skin skater shoes. There's a few i've got my eyes on so here's a quick insight to a couple I like. The first again people will have mixed views on it, I'm undecided I sort of love it and hate it at the same time! The second is just a basic which I will probably end up getting regardless!

I've recently been eyeing up so many handbags, i'm lusting over so many from La Moda. The pink one I wanted has disappeared from the website which i'm gutted about but I saw this one and again fell in love! Just how nice is this beige bag, I love the structured tote bags at the moment, I need to get my hands on this one!

After reading 'throughchloeslens' blog post called 'The Body Shop Wishlist' I gathered that there would probably be a few items added to my own wishlist, and that I was right! First of all is the Vitamin E Cream Cleanser, at £2.50(for the smaller 60ml size to test) I will definitely be picking this up when I am next in town. I'm always on the hunt for new cleansers as my skin type fluctuates so much, I think this will be great for when my skins feeling a little dry and dull to give it a perk!

After scouring The Body Shop website I also came across the Warming Mineral Mask, this is £10 but for a weekly treatment I think it will be worth it. I love masks that warm or tingle as it really feels like they are working, this one warms obviously as the name states. Although my skin can be dry at times I can also get a very oily T-Zone and this mask claims it is oil absorbing so will be perfect for me, also I just think it looks really nice- that's a valid enough reason right?

This was only going to be a quick post but it's turned out pretty lengthy than what I expected, there is a lot more on my wishlist but these are just a few that I thought i'd share!
I hope you've enjoyed me ranting about what i'm wanting- what is on your current wishlist? I'd love to know!

That's all for now, talk soon guys! X
